Denison University sophomore Kristen Hohl (Winfield, Ill./Wheaton North) was named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America second-team as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A biology major with a 4.0 grade point average, Hohl has helped the Denison women's swimming and diving team to a sixth place finish at the Division III national championship in 2006 and a fifth place finish in 2007. A nine-time All-American, Hohl turned in four All-America performances at this year's championship in Houston, Texas. She swam the fastest split in Denison's fourth place 200 freestyle relay and she helped the 200 medley relay team to a third place finish. As an individual, she finished 15th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.86 seconds.

At the 2007 North Coast Athletic Conference Championships Hohl swam on the conference champion, 800 freestyle relay team.

Hohl advanced to the Academic All-America ballot by being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District first team. She was joined on the All-District squad by her teammate, junior Christine Wissink (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland), who was a second-team All-District selection. Wissink is a junior Geoscience, Sociology and Anthropology major who also qualified for nationals. Her top finish came on the sixth place 400 medley relay squad.

Created in 1952 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Teams Program is the premier, nationwide college scholar-athlete awards program. It recognizes over 800 outstanding student-athletes annually in Division I, II, III and NAIA covering all NCAA championship sports.
